Has been organised by Hart Rotary since 1992 and is a firm favourite for many who return year after year.
The festival opens with a procession, entries are judged in the arena, and prizes are awarded. It ends at 5 pm.
In 2026, the Festival will take place on Oak Common, Hartley Wintney, on Saturday, June 13th, from midday to 5 pm - please reserve the date in your diary!
The Hartley Wintney Village Festival is widely praised as a "brilliant" and "proper" community event, offering a traditional, family-friendly atmosphere. Held annually on the village common and organised by Hart Rotary, it features a wide range of offerings, including charity stalls, arts and crafts stalls, local crafts and a funfair.
Food options such as the beer tent, traditional afternoon tea, Belgian beers and a variety of food choices including pop-up eateries.
Radio Frimley Park will be there to entertain you with music and their MC! We are also fortunate to have a live performance from local band Disfunktion.
The festival is a significant fundraising event for our nominated charity. Festival entry is free but putting on this celebrated event is not, and so we rely on public donations, sales of programmes/prize draw entries, in addition to our tireless volunteers.
In addition to a new mobile phone app (see below), traditional programmes are available in advance and on the day, with proceeds from sales and the procession collection going to St Michael’s Hospice.
We also depend on the generosity of our sponsors, who make a significant difference to what we are able to do for the community in Hart.

St. Michael’s Hospice is an independent charity based in Basingstoke, supporting people across North Hampshire who have a life-limiting illness, and are facing the end-of-life or experiencing bereavement.
The dedicated team of nurses, doctors, and therapists deliver free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers. With only 16% of funding from the government, the hospice faces a funding crisis, necessitating an Urgent Care Appeal. The reality is stark: without the support of our local community, St. Michael’s Hospice may not be here for everyone who needs us.
Community Spirit: Reviews frequently highlight the event as a fantastic celebration of the village community.
Family Activities: Popular attractions include donkey rides, a bouncy castle, and a fairground.
Entertainment: The main arena features diverse performances, including local dance schools (e.g., Orwell Dance), Morris dancing, and live bands.
Variety of Stalls: Visitors enjoy a wide range of offerings, including charity stalls, local crafts, and food options, such as the beer tent, traditional afternoon tea, Belgian beers and a variety of food choices.
Atmosphere: Described as relaxed, welcoming, and a great, sunny afternoon out for all ages.
The festival typically brings out thousands of residents as well as those from all over the South, and is frequently described as a well-run, safe, essential summer date in the area
